“Hello World!”

I’m Eloïse. I work as a Network Engineer for a global financial firm in the City of London, England. I am very proud to call myself a Network Engineer, because the road that led me to landing the job and the coveted Cisco CCNA certification was not an easy one. But I did it and there is still more fun stuff to learn.
I became interested in Networking during the early days of my career as a Junior IT support Technician in my home country of South Africa. I worked on some large projects where the entire network infrastructure had to be overhauled and I was responsible to make sure everything gets up and running without major hiccups. Although I initially was responsible for physical layer connectivity issues, it was when the Network Engineers came to troubleshoot latency and slowness of our systems that something inside me clicked. I was hooked.
Fast forward a couple of years … I told you it wasn’t plain sailing. I finally achieved my CCENT and then my CCNA cert. It has certainly been the hardest and most rewarding thing I have achieved and it made me realise, I can do anything if I apply myself.
So here I am, head in the books.
I’ll be sharing what I’m learning with you all! Let me know if there’s anything you would like me to cover in future blog posts.
