Making the impossible, possible.

What does a teenager from a small town in India have in common with a South African woman living in London? And what do they both have in common with an American Author from Chicago? Let me help you connect the dots.

I would like to introduce you to Arjjun. Arjjun is 15 and he lives in a town called Puducherry on the South East coast of India. Arjjun found me on Instagram and told me about his passion for technology, an interest we both share. I found out that he has done as many free Cisco DevNet online courses as he could and achieved all the DevNet badges that he could and he is hungry for more. Arjunn asked me if I could help him with a Cisco DevNet 200-901 book. I was stumped. How do I help this young man, who clearly wants to learn and make a future for himself? So I put my brave hat on and started asking. And you know what, it turns out there are really kind, caring people in this world, who want to give back and who know how it feels when you want to improve your life - but you just need a hand to pull you up. Much to my delight Arjjun was gifted a Cisco DevNet book by Mr Jason Gooley. When I told Arjjun that the very author of the book he wanted has gifted him the book he literally was in tears. And you know what: it feels good. It feels good to not just read someone's request for help, and turn away. It feels good to give someone a helping hand. And so, even though I've never met Arjjun or Mr Gooley in person, and we're separated by collectively almost 15000km, we are now connected. Connected by a love of technology, a shared experience, and an understanding of what opportunity can mean to a person at the right time in their life. We hope that Arjjun will enjoy studying about APIs and all of Cisco's cool products that make managing Networks in the age of Network programmability so much fun. We look forward to seeing him progress on his journey, and attain success. If you want to pay it forward, or have any ideas on how to help those in need, please send me a message. Paducherry to London to Chicago = 14620km
